Endocrinology is a specialty that evaluates and treats suspected endocrine gland and metabolic bone disorders.

The endocrine system is a complex group of glands which make hormones - substances that help control activities in your body. 

At the Endocrinology Service we will diagnose any diseases that affect these glands, treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in your system. 

These conditions could include:

• diabetes
• thyroid and metabolic disorders
• over- or under-production of hormones
• menopause
• hypertension
• cholesterol (lipid) disorders
• lack of growth
• cancers of the endocrine glands.
