Our contribution and vision
We recognise the contribution health research makes to health promotion, and we encourage research as part of normal operation.
We encourage health research that promotes well-being across our population and communities.
Our health research activities, in partnership with the people we serve, help us achieve our vision:
Healthy, Thriving Communities – Kia Momoho Te Hāpori Oranga:
- Empowering our populations to live healthy lives
- Develop a smart, fully integrated system to provide care close to where people live, learn, work and play, and
- Evolve models of excellence across all our hospital services.
Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty staff are engaged in a variety of health research activities, including local investigator-led projects, collaborative research with national and international experts, grant funded projects and commercially sponsored clinical trials.
Research activities are supported by the Research Office, whose role is to support, promote and develop health research across all our services.
The Bay of Plenty Clinical Trials Unit (BOPCTU) provides support for Commercial Sponsored Clinical Trial Activity.
