Tamariki art competition open to budding artists

09 October 2024

Calling all young, budding artists! Join our Children’s Ward patients as they get their creativity flowing with our children’s art competition to celebrate the opening of the new Te Waka Aorangi | Child Wellness Centre.

Tamariki art competition open to budding artists

Open to students in Year 1-8 in the Western Bay, all artworks entered will be displayed in our new Te Waka Aorangi | Child Wellness Centre, which is opening next month. There are some great prizes up for grabs for each year group.

The theme of the competition is based around the local legend of Taurikura. You can use any element of this story or messages such as journeys of change, wellbeing/hauora or nature.

Artworks can be made from any material and be no bigger than A2 (420 x 594 mm). Please make sure each submission be labelled, in the bottom right-hand corner, with the artists name, age, year group and school.

Please send your submissions in a photographic format (JPEG) to nicola.chadwick@bopdhb.govt.nz by Tuesday 29 October 2024.

Te Waka Aorangi | Child Wellness Centre will be for all tamariki and their whānau who have behavioural, neurodevelopmental, or associated mental health concerns to experience timely, responsive, and integrated care. It will provide an integrated, multi-disciplinary model of care and is a “one-stop-shop” for children under 14 years old.
