Whakatāne is upgrading its existing CT scanner to a new dual energy CT machine. This move will provide significant improvement in clinical imaging, as well as a better experience for patients with faster scan times.

Work has begun this week to decommission the existing scanner, and it move to a temporary location within radiology, while building work is completed to install the new CT machine.

While this work takes place over the next four weeks, some patients may need to have their CT scan rebooked or performed at a different location. If your appointment is affected a member of our team will be in touch.

We will continue to provide access to urgent CT scans both on and off site with support from our colleagues at Tauranga Hospital. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
