Sam - TrendCare Coordinator
Sam - TrendCare Coordinator
Accepting a job with Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty was an obvious choice for Sam, after making a move to the region for love.
Joining an extremely hard-working and passionate team of nurses, Sam was thrilled to be given the chance to learn and grow within his role on the medical ward, particularly gaining a strong understanding and compassion when providing care for patients in the later stages of their life.
Sam quickly realised that creating meaningful connections and building quality relationships comes easily when working with our teams. He loves that it doesn’t matter if staff are based in Tauranga or Whakatāne, friendships emerge which go beyond roles and departments. That connection also extends within the wider community – establishing a level of trust among co-workers and neighbours alike that Sam hasn’t experienced before moving here.
‘Everyone here is connected by something local, and that is more important than I might have once thought’.
Recently stepping into a new position as TrendCare Coordinator has allowed Sam to further his drive for data – creating systems that help staff deliver the best possible care for patients. Improving the manageability of healthcare while creating harmony between patient requirements and care delivery is vital within this role.
‘I feel privileged to be part of a programme that is actively working out that harmony’.
With experience working across the organisation in several roles, Sam has invaluable knowledge that supports his on-going work in this focus area.
For anyone considering a move to the region to work, live and care; Sam couldn’t recommend it enough – that sense of ‘home’ in the Bay is almost immediate.
